Jay-R has been a traveling man for most of his short life, and he is longing to find his own fixed corner of the world and settle down. Formerly the close companion of a homeless man, he is a mellow, friendly guy who gets on well with humans, cats and other dogs. He loves toys, and especially enjoys chasing after balls (sometimes he even brings them back!) and playing tug. Jay-R weighs around 45 lb, and he has a rough, low-maintenance coat and an appealing, mischievous expression. (Unfortunately hes camera shy - hes really much cuter than he looks in our pictures!) We think he's probably part Griffon, judging by his looks, and there's probably some terrier in there too - we reckon he's one of a kind! He gets a bit stir-crazy when cooped up indoors all day, so hed like a home where he has access to a fenced yard. Hes easy-going, but he does have a fair amount of energy, so hed enjoy being the companion of an active person. Hes affectionate without being needy, and although no one has taken the time to teach him much, hes smart and very trainable. He is totally potty trained and does not mark territory indoors. Are you looking for a walking or jogging companion, and someone to hang out with at the end of the day? Wed love to arrange an introduction! At present JR lives in a foster home near Olympia, WA, but we will work with an approved adopter to arrange transport to anywhere within the Pacific Northwest. Jay-Rs adoption fee is $225.
